Governor Bol Wek Agoth Champions Reconciliation in Wunlit, Secures Unity of Greater Ananatak

Tonj Town, Tonj South County, Monday, July 28, 2025 – H.E. Amb. Bol Wek Agoth, Governor of Warrap State, visited the tombs of late liberation icons Gen. Anthony Bol Madut and William Deng Nhial, accompanied by orphans and widows of the respected leaders, to pay his respects.
During the visit, Governor Agoth expressed gratitude to President Salva Kiir for appointing him Governor, which afforded him the privilege of officially honoring the burial sites of the esteemed leaders. He described Gen. Anthony Bol Madut and William Deng Nhial as true patriots whose courage and determination inspired a generation that shaped the SPLA/SPLM movement, including President Kiir and Dr. John Garang.
“Courage, determination, and valor that drove these two liberators inspired a generation that engineered the SPLA/SPLM movement including President Salva and Dr. John Garang,” Governor Agoth stated.
The Governor encouraged the families of the late leaders to nurture and guide the younger generation, highlighting that among the children of these liberators may emerge future patriots who will contribute to nation-building in South Sudan.
In his remarks, Governor Agoth urged the people of Warrap State to embrace the vision of Gen. Anthony Bol Madut and William Deng Nhial, who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty of the nation, calling for continued commitment to peace, harmony, and prosperity.
