President Calls to End the Conflicts in Warrap State

Juba, 20th February 2025 – President Salva Kiir Mayardit has called for an immediate end to the ongoing inter-communal conflicts in Warrap State and Abyei Administrative Area.

Launching of Primary Leaving Examinations Nov, 2024

H.E. Lt. Gen. Francis Marial Abur, officially launched the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations by ringing the bell at Emmy Robbin Primary School. This symbolic act marked the commencement of the exams across Warrap State and the country.

History &
Establishment

Warrap State, located in the northwestern part of South Sudan, is one of the country’s original ten states established after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in 2005.

Geographical &
Administrative Formation

Warrap State was carved out of the former Bahr el Ghazal region, alongside other neighboring states. It shares borders with Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Western Bahr el Ghazal, Unity State, and Lakes State.

Ethnic Composition

The state is predominantly inhabited by the Dinka ethnic group, with various clans contributing to its rich cultural heritage. Known for their strong traditions, the people of Warrap State rely heavily on pastoralism and agriculture as their primary means of livelihood.
