Governor Bol Wek Agoth Champions Reconciliation in Wunlit, Secures Unity of Greater Ananatak

Tonj East County, Friday, August 1, 2025 – H.E. Amb. Bol Wek Agoth, Governor of Warrap State, successfully convened the Jalwau and Akook communities at Ngapagok Payam Headquarters and held a separate meeting with the Thiik community in Malual-Chum to promote peace and disseminate information on the State of Emergency.
Governor Agoth reaffirmed his commitment to implement the State of Emergency declared by H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit in Warrap State, emphasizing its role in addressing emerging lawlessness and preventing avoidable conflicts.
“I want the children to resume school, I yearn to see the women living under trees return to their homes, and the elders to experience a dignified life in their last days,” Governor Agoth stated during the meetings.
The Governor highlighted his vision to unite the Greater Ananatak and Greater Luacjang communities, reconcile differences, and engage the populations in productive activities such as trade and agriculture to ensure lasting peace. Legal experts were introduced during the gatherings to facilitate access to justice for the communities.
Following the engagements, Governor Agoth departed for Romic in Tonj East County, where he is scheduled to deliver further remarks on August 2, 2025.
The delegation accompanying the Governor included H.E. Ayak Bona, Gen. Garang Mabil, Rt. Hon. Kuec Deng Mayar, State Advisors, State Ministers, Heads of Independent Commissions, State MPs, and senior security officials.
The meetings underscored the State Government’s determination to promote peace, reconciliation, and socio-economic development across Warrap State.
