August 4, 2025
Ngapagok, Tonj East County, Sunday, August 3, 2025 – H.E. Amb. Bol Wek Agoth, Governor of Warrap State, presided over a historic reconciliation ceremony in Ngapagok Payam Headquarters, where the Akook and Thiik communities formally declared the beginning of a new chapter of peace.
In a significant moment for the Greater Ananatak community, Governor Agoth witnessed the reception of Sultan Mathiang Mabior Dau, leader of the Pan-Juac clan of Jalwau, who committed to reconciliation with his Ador section. Sultan Mathiang acknowledged that disagreements among siblings are natural and accepted the Governor’s proposal to address outstanding issues within the Ador section in Wunlit.
The Pan-Juac clan had been living in exile in Luacjang territory following a bitter dispute within the Ador clan that fueled misconceptions and recurrent conflicts between Jalwau and Luacjang communities.
Governor Agoth urged all conflict-displaced persons of Jalwau to return home, pledging that government forces will be deployed to hotspot areas to ensure the safety of lives and property.
Gen. Garang Mabil Deng highlighted the historical contributions of local civilians during the liberation struggle, emphasizing that the pursuit of peace is a way to honor their sacrifices and protect the community from senseless intercommunal conflicts.
The reconciliation ceremony was also witnessed by Luacjang Chiefs, led by Sultan Agok Aguer Adel, marking a milestone in the efforts to restore harmony and foster unity in Tonj East County.
