Malual Muok Payam, Tonj South County, Wednesday, July 23, 2025 – H.E. Amb. Bol Wek Agoth, Governor of Warrap State, was warmly received in Malual Muok Payam while disseminating information on the State of Emergency ahead of the Government-led disarmament initiative.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Agoth emphasized dialogue over force, stating,
“I have chosen persuasion before I use force. I want to reconcile my communities and restore our historical values of coexistence that made us a strong civilization.”
Gen. Juma Rehan Deng urged the community to escape the cycle of poverty fueled by conflict and firearms proliferation, calling for voluntary surrender of weapons in accordance with the State of Emergency.
The Governor commended chiefs who had already surrendered firearms and encouraged the community to focus on initiatives aimed at lifting people out of poverty through peaceful cooperation and development.
In line with his vision for Warrap State, Governor Agoth reaffirmed his commitment to peace, youth engagement, productivity, and the prudent use of the state’s natural resources.
As part of the outreach, Governor Agoth, together with Gen. Akol Ayii Madut, provided financial and material support—including flour, beans, and cooking oil—for distribution to families affected by conflict.
The visit underscored the State Government’s strategy of integrating peacebuilding, humanitarian assistance, and sustainable development to achieve a stable and prosperous Warrap State.
