Governor Bol Wek Agoth Champions Reconciliation in Wunlit, Secures Unity of Greater Ananatak

Kuajok, Tuesday, July 8, 2025 – The Governor of Warrap State, Cde Amb. Bol Wek Agoth, officially assumed office today as the Chairperson of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Warrap State, during a ceremony held at the State Secretariat in Kuajok.
The event was attended by senior SPLM cadres, members of the State Secretariat, and representatives of the party’s structures, who briefed the new Chairperson on the SPLM’s strategic priorities. They emphasized the need for political discipline and organizational strengthening in order to expand membership, retain supporters, and consolidate the party’s position ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Cde Amb. Bol Wek Agoth received messages of solidarity from both the SPLM Women’s and Youth Leagues. Representatives reaffirmed their commitment to mobilizing women and young people to participate in peacebuilding and state development under the SPLM-led government.
In his inaugural remarks, Cde Amb. Bol Wek expressed gratitude and reaffirmed his loyalty to the SPLM under the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
“I perceive SPLM to be a historic party. I confirm allegiance to the SPLM Party led by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, and I pledge allegiance to the people of Warrap State,” he said.
The Governor pledged to work closely with the party structures to build a government that embodies unity, equality, justice, and balanced representation. He also urged the Secretariat to prioritize human resource development through capacity building initiatives, while strengthening the party’s physical presence across the state.
The ceremony concluded with renewed calls for collective action to reinforce the SPLM’s role in shaping Warrap State’s future and securing victory in the upcoming elections.
